Well, hello everyone – it’s been a looooong while since I last wrote on our Roses2Go Blog – a little too embarassed to say how long exactly – but definitely been a while. So today, I decided I will commit to writing at least one blog a week – surely, I can do that? Please feel free to comment and make suggestions as to what you would like to read about and I will do my best to meet your requests.
Today I just wanted to share what has been going on here at Roses2Go Florists and A Dozen Roses – The Rose Farm and basically get you all up to speed. We’ve managed to survive a very busy Valentine’s Day on Thursday 14th February, 2013 – deemed to be the busiest day of all for this event. The roses were stunning and our customers were as romantic as ever – so a solid effort all round. Then, came Mother’s Day on 12th May, 2013 – this was our biggest ever and our roses did not let us down and were just sensational. We also offered tulips, oriental lilies and an assortment of pot plants which were a hit this year. We settled in for a cold winter which was comparatively mild this year to previous years here on the Central Coast – and we were very fortunate to have lovely sunny crisp days which was superb for the roses. Roses love clear sunny warm days with good light hours for growth and the cooler nights are great for quality and head-size.
Therefore, all in all this growing season and year has been most kind to us – we hit the spring running with abnormally warm days and our roses have truly bloomed earlier this season – great for us and our customers. So life is great, the weather is sensational and the roses are happy! Happy roses = happy husband (for me especially – as my husband Wade is our hydroponic rose grower) – things are looking up and we are preparing for a very busy summer with lots of beautiful roses. Until next time – have a rosey day! This is me (Nicky Mann) in our 2nd greenhouse admiring a sunny rose bud of Sunking – a wonderful yellow rose bred by Meilland in France and grown by Roses2go in Australia. Enjoy!
